about

The long awaited second installment of 2017 is coming with two fresh remixes by upcoming artists Mintz & Dead-tones for our label member 1979.

Mintz is an upcoming israeli duo formed two years ago by Eden and Rami. Both are in love with analog gear, harmonic techno, house & electronica music and already released their first album 'Pulse of our Planet‘ and several releases which showcases their immense creativity and passion to contribute with their music in this world.
They gave ‘Permission‘ a new spin to a lighter groove perfectly suiting the coming summer season.
The melodies seem to flow like bees through trees from blossom to blossom in a fresh breeze of sun warmed air. According to Mintz the story for this remix started with 1979´s first ep on Klangwelt.
His famous track 'Sail' made them realize it was just a matter of time till they would cooperate and when they listened to 'Permission' for the first time, it struck their heads instantly.
"Something in the melody that repeats over and over and creates an endless loop convinced us to make this remix." From the beginning the vision for this remix was clear as they immediately fell in love with Johnny's parts and this is what you can hear when you listen to their interpretation.

Dead-tones who already gave his debut on labels like Kindisch or Motek, working as coordinator and new mate of Guy Gerber is picking it up where the original of Doors left us. Bringing a 4/4 beat to the warm analog recorded synth lines really turns this one into another summer must have.

While he used as many parts as possible of the given recordings he still wanted to add that new touch of lightness and ease around the originals arp progression. His focus was on the new rhythm and giving it that extra punch with a lot of outboard gear in which he resampled all drums though always keeping an ethereal/dreamy and happy vibe to it. Another open air smasher for the warm seasons.
